We already have a small PCB with PIC micro controller reading a simple image sensor and sending the data to computer via RS232. The current device is very basic. We want to upgrade this device to USB so we can read data at higher speeds, and also to use a higher resolution ADC. A .pdf with a more detailed description is attached.

hi, i am an electrical engineer. i have expertise in embedded system design.i can help you with this project. i have read the complete details in the document file. you mention that device will connect as a HID device. But this is not suitable. for data communication from sensors generally the serial profile is used. basically the serial profile is same as Rs232 protocol but it can go at much higher data rates. Hi, I am very interested in your project. I did like to Atmega AVR, ILX sensor, RS232. I suggest to make your project on a microprocessor STM32F407. Integrated ADC has sufficient speed and resolution. I also USB specialist. I have a development tools, board, ILX sensor.

Hello, We can use external USB controller with high speed along with a PIC or ARM chip. HID class is not suitable for high speed communication. I will provide dll to read data from the board with libusb (the open source USB ). It is easy to install If you are interested, please discuss further

Hello, I am Deepak Gupta, from India. I have more than 10 years of experience with embedded systems development and mixed signal designs. Please have a look at my portfolio and you will be gauge my work. I have gone through your requirement and to start with it is clear and comprehensive. As you have mentioned there arent any 16bit and >10Msps ADC microcontrollers that I know of either. However there are quite a few 12bit and >10Msps ADC microcontrollers. But that is for you to decide, in my experience a 12 bit ADC is sufficient for most imaging applications. Also the 5 weeks deadline you have is a little too tight, do you have any flexibility there? hi we can make this may i ask what type of image sensor you use? cant you replace it with one with build in ADC? anyways we can make the pcb with microcontrollers like LPC4370 or PIC24FJ128GC010

Hi, Why you want to build a new hardware? based on what you described a Raspberry Pi connected to a daughter board can do the work. are there any industrial (-40 to +85 C) specs that you want to meet? Which image sensor are you using? I may be able to suggest an alternate if you describe to functional requirements of your current product. If you somehow use off the shelf components and avoid unnecessary custom hardware that will be good redesign. Thanks,

If you what make this with a PIC forger it, because don’t exist any PIC HS (USB 2.0 that work at 480 Mbps) the best chance that I can offers if you want use a PIC is use one of the family of the dsPIC33EP512MU814, this PIC have USB 2.0 (work at 12Mbps only) and have a 70MIPS CPU the one can get the 10MS/s that you need. The only possible problem with this designee is that if you need a precise delay between samples will not be possible at 10MS/s, you go to receive something like S-S-S-S dead time S-S-S-S dead time S-S-S, etc. basically when run at lowers speeds the dead times will disappear.. To fix this if you need a 10MS/s(or higher) ADC 16 Bits device that get samples for longs times with no variant in the delays you need make the development with a FPGA with a USB HS (480 Mbps) and a big DDR memory buffer. First of all I need take a look to your application to tell you which are the best option. I can make any of this options, if are with a microcontroller will take me 1 to 2 weeks, if are with FPGA 3 to 4 weeks, I will make you firmware, schematics, some windows basic test program and 1 prototype (the prototype cud take more time if need manufacture the PCB), if you need I can make your production too in china. Exist a lot more of technical things the ones I can’t type in too small letter. This price I’m giving you here is only to start in contact with you, when I know what you need, I will give you de developments price. Other think, I speak Spanish too if you need

Hello, I am an embedded systems designer and developer and would love to work on this USB based image processing project. Instead of using an 8 bit PIC controller, I would like to use a 32 bit controller from PIC32 family due to requirements of the project as they have full speed USB 2.0 port with host privileges. I will need you to release 20 % of bid amount in advance to help me start work and also to save my back, I will send the preliminary schematics in 3-4 days and then will need 40 % of bid amount to order for parts and to order the making of PCB, and 20% when I will show you video of working prototype and need to send you through courier.
